Frequent Questions that are asked about the Ministry

How long is the program?

The Promise Land Ministries program is typically 9 months.

How much does it cost to enter the Promise Land Ministries program?

There is no cost to the resident or their family. The price was paid by Jesus Christ at Calvary. The ministry operates on donations from local charities and friends of the ministry like you.

How do I or someone I know get accepted into the Promise Land program?

Anyone interested in the ministry must speak directly to the ministry Director, Bill Manning. Their acceptance is based on their sincere desire to change their life through Jesus Christ. All residents must be able to perform physical labor.

What if my loved one is incarcerated?

Even if they are incarcerated, they must speak with the Director. The ministry office phone is available from 6am till 8pm 7 days a week.

How does visitation work?

Family members may visit on Sunday. We encourage family members to attend our church service on Sunday at 11am. After church residents may leave with their family for a few hours.

What do I need to bring with me?

Storage space is limited. Residents should bring a weeks worth of seasonal clothes, underwear and socks, casual shoes, work and shower shoes, personal hygiene items, a Bible, pillow and blanket. All residents will have a weekly laundry day.

Can I use tobacco products?

Yes.

Can I have a cell phone?

Yes, but if the privilege is abused, phones will be taken away.

What about medications?

All medications must be approved prior to admission. We cannot accept anyone taking mood altering medications. This includes all pain, anxiety and most psychiatric medication. No over the counter products with alcohol are allowed.

Can my family send me money?

Yes, however since all of your basic needs are taken care of, you may only have small amounts of cash. If you have $20 in your pocket, you will be fine.
